BLOG

This blog highlights the day to day workings of the big vision, moments of clarity, feelings of outrage, hope for the human species as well as updates on all our activities. Consider this an official invitation for you to join this underground grassroots revolution, happening right here in Hartford, Connecticut, of all places! But we are just one of many amazing pockets of folks just like us all across the country who are defining a new kind of patriotism, who are feeling the shift about to come our way and who are starting to organize and prepare. We are the ones dreaming of a sustainable future, seeing through the veils of illusion coating our skies, holding onto the last remants of civilization as we know it so as to carry some pieces of it through to our future generations while trying to positively alter the fate being placed on us against our will by the elite few. We are rebels who taste truth and are not afraid to speak. There is an underlying message below the distorted mass of confusion bombarding every aspects of our lives. Turn off your TV's. Turn on your minds and listen.

Fossil Fools Rally
A day of action to expose the Fossil Fools!

Fossil Fools Day has been a tradition for the last 3 years, getting youth out on the streets and into communities to stand in opposition to dirty energy, show support for climate justice, strong legislation and corporate responsibility. Thousands of youth from around the world on April 1, 2008 took action for a clean and just energy future.

We gathered for an open mike at the Capitol - check out our new video.

Green Cleaning Party
We had a great turn out for our first Green Cleaning Party! We made our own cleaning products, exchanges recipes & tips and we informed about the environmental efforts state-wide by our local flower pot! We followed the fun with a dantastic movie, BLUE VINYL that we will most likely showing again!

Women across the country are hosting parties like ours to teach friends and family how to make their own "green cleaners" from ingredients they know are safe and non-toxic. More than 100 people, from Florida to Hawaii, have already pledged to host green cleaning parties as part of the Women's Voices of the Earth (WVE) launches their National Green Cleaning Campaign http://www.womenandenvironment.org/.

Be part of the nationwide movement to demand labeling on toxic cleaning products. Start by reducing exposure to toxic chemicals in your home by learning to make eco-friendly ones.

Sears Protest
We joined in the National Protest against SEARS on December 4th by having folks sign postcards at all of our Novmeber events. Sears continues to print all of their catalogs on virgin paper! Trees from the Boreal Forest in Canada are being needlessly cut down for catalogs an toliet paper. The Boreal Forest is one of the few remaining resources we have on all planet. Deforestation is one of the leading causes of the destruction of our planet. It is time for consumers to speak up and take action. Tell them to stop!

Library Protest
I thought the "talk" with Art Horn was quite interesting and entertaining...there were more
library personnel and security guards than any other talk I have attended - more people in fact as well. Some "groupies" planted by Art himself were also in attendance, but for the most part a decent turn out of
folks who intellectually challenged Mr.Horn's twisted position. Channel 30 showed up but the library "official" gave them a hard time about recording for some reason.

Now I have no problem with other points of view, but when you have libraries across the state blindly supporting the slanderous statements of this man,
one has to wonder, who really is paying Art Horn? More interesting is that there appears to be a nationwide epidemic of meteorologists claiming that
global warming is a scam such as founder of the weather channel, John Coleman. Who's planting these folks to create controversy? Why would anyone
in their right mind not support efforts to better our planet with reduced pollution, conservation efforts, less dependency on oil? This idea that
"global warming" somehow just started in the 1990's as a marketing ploy simply ignores everything we have done to our planet since the Industrial Revolution. The theory that human's have not or can not affect climate completely overlooks the fact that our species has used up most of the world's resources and is about to feel the impact of those actions. For
example, we have cut down 70% of the trees on this planet which has a direct correlation to floods and soil erosion. We use more of the world's resources
faster than they can be used. Water sources are drying up around the world and right here in the United States. Global warming is simply a warning sign
before disaster strikes! Why discourage others from being prepared?

Art Horn is undermining the work of educators, environmentalists and political leaders in our state and is getting paid by Connecticut librarians
to do so. I heard from others that heard his talk previously that he scaled things down a bit, but still managed to criticize and accuse Gore of being
dishonest and inaccurate. Interesting that everything he accuses others of doing he is doing himself! None of the environmentalists presenting talks
about climate change in Connecticut at libraries or universities across the state are getting paid. How is it then that he is? and why?

Upcoming Art Horn Talks:

Henry Carter Hull Library in Clinton on December 3rd at 6:30 p.m.

Torrington Public Library on November 14 at 6:30 p.m.

Mark Twain Library in Redding November 15 at 7:30 p.m.

Call To Action
Please join me in protest against a talk at The Hartford Public Library this Thursday, November 8th at 5:30pm by Art Horn. Many of you know how passionate I am about the global warming crisis facing our planet -not just for my own children but for all generations to come. Here in Connecticut we are actually making steps in the right direction with may folks on all levels working together to find solutions - from DEP Commissioner Gina McCarthy to us at The Green Vibration. We have scientists all over the world expressing concern that our planet is not healthy and that we humans are participating in our own extinction with the ways we choose to live our lives - particularly here in America. The facts about climate change are pretty clear.

I was shocked to discover that there happens to be an individual in Connecticut who uses his status of a meteorologist from the past who is actually going around to all the libraries in CT claiming that global warming is a hoax. He slanders the Sierra Club, Green Peace and Al Gore. He states that the polar bears are perfectly happy and that there are more of them than ever before...unable to make the connection that polar bears need ICE to survive.

Our oldest daughter, Cassie, who is an up and coming activist went to his talk in East Granby a few months ago and was dismissed when she asked questions amd informed that she was too young to know what she was talking about. I looked into it and found that he has been doing these all over the place and is actually making a career from it. John went to one of his talks in South Windsor with another home schooling family says he is very slick in his presentation.

Last week I found out that he will be doing this same presentation in our home town at the Hartford Public Library . I am rescheduling our GOING GREEN Support Group previously scheduled for that night and requesting your participation! We need to protest! This man is GETTING PAID to undo the hard work of activists, environmentalists, educators, parents and government officials who are waking up to the realities facing us ahead! No longer can he be allowed to make a career by spurring controversy in our state. Our libraries need to be called onthe fact that they are NOT maintaining a position of neutrality by paying him to spew nonsense. This is not entertainment but real life.

Eco-Tour '07
7.5.07
Thanks to all our friends that helped kick off our cross country tour! We are GREEN PIONEERS defining the new frontier for future generations. Our westward journey is a quest to share the stories of other pioneers in other parts of the country who are leaders of this movement in their own communities. We intend to provide a sense of hope and define more clearly a sense of direction. By listening to the experiences and opinions of our fellow Americans we will gain a broader scope of the issues while spreading the urgent message about climate change. The process of inquiry itself presents an opportunity to think outside the realm of one's own experience and this is an essential component to the crisis we face. In asking questions the anwers will be revealed.
